Forget for a moment whether or not you are in favor of complete government control of healthcare.  This is a piece of legislation that was passed in the middle of the night on a Sunday, and the people who voted for it hadn’t even read it.

In fact, the Nancy Pelosi said that we would have to wait for it to be enacted before we’d really find out what was in it.  This will not end well, and it will not do what its supporters think.

This is a bill that does nothing to address the actual problem with healthcare, which is the cost.  It merely shifts the cost to the government.  And this is a government that has to borrow money to meet its obligations as of last week.  There’s no way they will be able to fund this.

The fact that no one is pushing the simple question of why healthcare costs so much should be a hint that those in power don’t care about us.  Supporters of socialized medicine won’t notice, though.  They’re in their glory.  As long as their team is scoring, they won’t question the game.

Supporters of the bill worship their idea of what they think it will do.  They won’t ask what the real problem with healthcare is.  That would interfere with their idea.

Thankfully, there is someone in government looking out for the people.  Attorney General Bill McCollum is suing the federal government over this bill.
